GEMS Gym founder, Joy Koh, brings over 10 years of coaching experience in 4 countries, all with very different training methodologies. When training and competing at the National Level in Singapore, Joy found it hard to obtain the proper instruction that was necessary to reach her potential as an athlete. This has compelled her to learn from leading coaches around the world to develop her unique, holistic and balanced (coaching) approach to gymnastics.
Joy was the Head Coach of UWCSEA East and built the program from its start in 2012 into a solid program with over 300 members who train recreationally and competitively. She is still coaching the competitive squad at UWCSEA East, where they continue to be successful at the annual SEASAC Championships.
Joy is also a FIG International Judge for Singapore, and most recently judged at the 28th SEA Games here in Singapore and the 20th Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. She is honored to collaborate with Singapore Gymnastics on the development of coaching and judging in Singapore. Since attaining her FIG International Judges Brevet in 2003, she has been judging on the international circuit and is the first judge from Singapore to have judged at a World Championships.

From Cambridge in the United Kingdom Rob is delighted to be working here at GEMS Gym. Before heading to Singapore, Rob has had the opportunity to travel the world. Starting gymnastics at the age of 9, he soon realized he would like to compete in Acrobatic Gymnastics where later on he would win five national medals three of them being gold.
Soon after, he started teaching gymnastics at his club in Cambridge, over the next 7 years he took on various roles including class manager, squad leader, acrobatics judge and coach development leader. After obtaining a distinction at performing arts school, Rob went on to travel the world dancing professionally which has landed him here in Singapore.
After a chance meeting with Joy he was offered a place teaching at Gems and now hopes his students enjoy his British style of coaching. Rob is currently covering the Saturday classes and the recently started adult class.
